Goodnight, not Goodbye

Please know, my friend, that I never said goodbye.

Actually, what I said was,

“Goodnight, my darling.

I’ll be by your side throughout the dark night, (as long as you want me to be)

Wherever your dreams will take you . .

and I’ll see you in the morning (when we awaken).

You can poke me.”

It’s so sad that being unwell at the time, my insanity couldn’t find a way to translate this into a deep understanding between two hearts,

yours & mine.
